Shamil Memedov with silver, Bulgaria finished with 6 medals
Shamil Mamedov won silver at the rating tournament in Mongolia.
In the final, the national team lost to Iranian Rahman Amuzadhalil, No. 1 in the world and second at the Olympic Games, with 10:17.
Mamedov led 8:1, but in the second half his opponent managed to close the gap and win the match in the up to 65 kg category of freestyle wrestling.
Bulgaria finished with 6 medals, won by our 6 participants.
Titles for Stoyan Kubatov (77) and David Dimitrov (82) in the classics, silver for Hayk Mnatsakanyan (82) also in the classics, as well as for Bilyana Dudova (62), Magomed Ramazanov (86) and Shamil Mamedov (65) in the freestyle wrestling.
The team was led by coaches Yordan Denev in the freestyle and by Yulian Georgiev in the classics.
Our judge for the tournament was Dimitar Chifudov.
Wrestlers from 23 countries took part in the competition, including Russia, the USA, India, Iran, South Korea, North Korea, Turkey, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Poland, as well as the hosts from Mongolia.
