The young Bulgarian medalists from Euro 2026 were awarded by the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation

The champions and medalists of the European Championships for Cadets and Cadets under 17 and for Boys and Girls under 15, which took place in Samokov, were awarded by the Management Board of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation.

A total of 14 young Bulgarian competitors received cash prizes and food vouchers, provided by the federation's sponsors, in recognition of their excellent performance at the two championships and the worthy representation of Bulgaria before the European elite.

The young talents were congratulated by the President of the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation and five-time world champion Stanka Zlateva, as well as by Olympic and world champion Georgi Markov.

National coaches Simeon Shterev, Radoslav Velikov and Stefan Toshev also extended their greetings to the competitors and wished them future successes, great international awards and Olympic titles for Bulgaria.thumb Markov Georgi Markov

"I am glad that we are already seeing the results of the new system of work that the Bulgarian Wrestling Federation has begun to build. We are organizing more training camps, including for the youngest age groups, we are working more long-term and purposefully with children and young competitors. This is exactly how future champions are built," said Stanka Zlateva.

"Our main goal is the revival of Bulgarian traditions in wrestling and the restoration of the strong Bulgarian school. We want to once again build a generation of prepared, disciplined and confident Bulgarian competitors who will bring success to our country at European, World and Olympic Championships," added the president of the federation.

The Bulgarian Wrestling Federation reported that the successful performance of the young national team and the excellent organization of the two European Championships in Samokov are a clear sign that Bulgarian wrestling is heading in the right direction, both in terms of sports and technology and organizationally.
